Guardian Protection’s security cameras use video analytics to help stop intruders and provide you with prime visibility of your property. Continue reading to learn how to set up a perimeter guard, tripwire, and groundzone from your Guardian Protection app.
Perimeter Guard
Our perimeter guard feature allows you to detect intruders on your property and scare them off with loud noises and flashing LEDs. To use this feature, you must have a Video Analytics Person Detection Rule already established.
Follow the steps below to enable this feature in your Guardian app.
- Log in to the Guardian Protection app.
- Tap on the “Video” section.
- Select “Recording Rules.”
- Choose an existing Video Analytics rule or create a new one.
- Verify the initial Video Analytics settings and tap “Next.”
- In the Perimeter Guard settings, find the option for “Camera Light & Sound.”
- Toggle the “Camera Status LED” option to set up an LED response.
- Select the desired duration for how long the LED response should last.
- If your camera supports Two-Way Audio, toggle the “Camera Audio Alert” option.
- Choose the type of sound for the alert from the “Audio Sound” dropdown menu and adjust the volume if applicable.
- Set the “Minimum Delay Between Alerts” to specify how long to wait before triggering another alert.
- 1Make additional changes as necessary and tap “Save” to apply your settings.
Now you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that the perimeter guard is always on duty!
Tripwire
Guardian Protection’s tripwire feature allows you to be notified whenever someone has passed over the virtual line you have established.
To find out how to set up this feature in your Guardian app, follow the steps below!
- First, tap the Video card.
- Then, tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Recording Rules.
- Tap + Add New Rule.
- Tap Video Analytics.
- Tap your camera and tap Tripwire.
- Calibrate your camera if necessary.
- Select the scenery type.
- Select the minimum objection detection size.
- Name your Rule.
- Tap and drag the ends of the tripwire to your desired location.
- Select which direction you’d like to record.
- Set your minimum delay between clips by tapping the dropdown menu.
- Select the timeframe.
- Select the object type.
- Set up recipients for these notifications.
- Add light automation.
- Save your new Rule!
Now, you will be notified whenever your tripwire is triggered so that nothing slips by without you noticing
Groundzone
Setting up a groundzone feature can help you pinpoint important activities around your house. If there is a specific area of your property that you want to monitor and manage, the groundzone feature will keep you updated on anything moving within that space!
To set up this feature in your Guardian app, follow the steps below.
- First, tap the Video card.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Tap Recording Rules.
- Tap + Add New Rule.
- Tap Video Analytics.
- Tap your camera and tap Groundzone.
- Calibrate your camera if necessary.
- Select the scenery type.
- Name your Rule.
- Tap and drag the corners of the groundzone to your desired location.
- Select how long you would like an object to loiter before recording a clip.
- Set your minimum delay between clips by tapping the dropdown menu.
- Next, select the timeframe.
- Select object type.
- Set up recipients for these notifications.
- Add light automation.
- Save your new Rule!
Now, you will be notified when your groundzone feature is triggered!
