We love when our customers communicate with us and the best way to stay up to date with Guardian news and account info is to have an accurate email and SMS phone number on files. To get started log into your Guardian account.
- Select Account Info from the menu
- Then choose Communication Preferences
This page lets you choose what communications you will receive from Guardian. Simply click the check box to enroll or unenroll in communications. *Transactional communications are required
- To the left, you will find the email address and SMS phone number on the account. Click the edit icon next to the information you would like to update.
- Don’t forget to hit Save
We are very sorry to hear you want to cancel your services. This request requires us to speak with the contract signer of the account. Please give us a call at 1.800.PROTECT (1.800.776.8328) to further discuss the status of your account.

Read MoreA duress code will send Guardian a silent alert that help is needed. Often referred to as a hold up code, this four-digit code number will operate your system exactly like your regular Master Panel Code. However, the system sends a duress signal to our monitoring center. We will treat this signal like an emergency signal and notify authorities that help is needed.
Since this code is often used when someone is being forced to silence the alarm in a hold up or home invasion, our monitoring center will not call before sending the authorities.
Not sure what your duress code is? If you subscribe to our smart home security services, codes can be changed and managed by logging into MyGuardianHome.com.
If you do not have smart home security, you can review information on how to update your duress code in your user manual here.

Read MoreYes, you can have multiple user codes for your security system! We encourage you to set up a new code for your babysitter, dog walker, gas meter man, or anyone else entering the home with your permission.
If you subscribe to our smart home security services, codes can be changed and managed by logging into MyGuardianHome.com, or from your Guardian app. If you do not have smart home security, you can review information on how to update the user codes in your user manual here.
To add a new user code, follow these steps:
- Log into your Guardian account.
- Select Users.
- Tap Add New User.
- Fill in their name.
- Add the user code you want them to use or generate a random one.
- Select Save.
To view your system’s history, please log into MyGuardianHome.com and follow these steps below:
1. Click Activity.
2. Scroll to the date or time in question in the history page.
3. Filter your results. You can filter by date, time, user devices, and event types.
Can’t find the event you’re looking for?
Remember, events are only stored for 60 days, and we’re not able to retrieve events that happened over 60 days ago. If you need further assistance, please call 1.800.PROTECT (1.800.776.8328).

5. Tap Add
6. Enter the login and password for your secondary account.
7. Tap Next

To edit the user code:
1. Click the current code that is shown under the user’s name.
2. Enter a new 4-digit code.
3. Click Save.
To delete the user code:
1. Click Delete.
2. Click to confirm you want the code to be deleted.
To add an email or phone number to the user:
1. Click Contact Info.
2. Choose Email or Text and fill in the required info.
3. Click Save.

1. Once logged in, please click the Users link on the left-hand menu.
2. Click Add New User
3. Fill in the new user’s first and last name, then click Next.
4. Enter a 4-digit code for the user.
5. Toggle the switch next to your system. It turns blue when it’s active.
6. Click Next.
To add an email or phone number for the user:
1. Click Contact Info.
2. Choose Email or Text and fill in the information as required.
3. Click Save.

3. In the purple banner, click Manage Logins
4. In bottom right corner, click add a login.
5. Type the email address for the new login.
6. Type the login name for the new user. We recommend you make it the new user’s email address.
7. Choose your language preference.
8. Click Save.
9. Choose the user’s permission level. This determines what the user will be able to do on the app or website. Below are the default permissions, or you may also set up a custom login.
- Master Control – The user will have all the permissions of the primary account login, including the ability to manage website logins and change profile information such as the primary email address and phone number for the account. Master Control logins will not receive certain types of account notifications that go only to the primary login.
- Full Control – The user can control the system and its functions as the master user would. They will not have the ability to manage website logins, and they will not receive certain types of account notifications that go only to the primary login.
- Read Only – The user can see most of the website pages and settings for the account, including the User Codes and Live/Saved Video pages, but will not be able to make any changes to account settings, arming state, device status or view saved video. Read Only users can’t see the Manage Logins page.
- Custom Permissions – This option lets you customize a user’s login so they can control, view only, or not see items at all. When this option is checked, use the radio buttons below to control what the user can see, and what they can control. You can use the drop-down options to select Full Control or Read Only.
10. Once the permission level is selected, click Save.

If you know your current password:
1. Log into your Guardian account.
2. Choose User Info.
3. From User Info, click Change Login Password.
4. Complete the form by entering your current password and entering and confirming a new password. The password must be a minimum of 7 characters in length, include at least one upper-case letter, one lower-case letter and one number.
5. When you’re finished, click CHANGE PASSWORD.
Forgot your login? Go here and click Forgot Username or Password to recover your account.

Yes! Remember, anyone with a login will be able to access and edit your account information. Adding this login will not give them access to your Guardian app. Follow the steps below to add a secondary user login:
- Log into your Guardian account
- Choose User Info.
- From User Info, click Manage Logins.
- Select the ADD USER button
- Enter the username and email address for your new user. The new user must have access to their email address to set up their password.
- Once finished, click SAVE.
The new user will receive an invitation email asking them to finish setting up their login information. If the user does not complete these steps, they will not be able to access your Guardian account.

Read MoreYour local municipality may require you to obtain a permit for your security system. To find out if a permit is required in your area, contact your local police, sheriff, or fire department using their non-emergency telephone number, or look up the local ordinance online.
If a permit is required, follow the necessary steps to obtain the permit. Once you have it, provide the permit number to Guardian by calling 1.800.PROTECT (1.800.776.8328).
Please note your permit may have an expiration date and may need to be renewed with your local municipality on a regular basis. Failure to obtain and/or renew your permit may result in municipal fines, refusal by the authorities to respond to an alarm activation, or the inability of our monitoring center to notify the authorities when an alarm activates.

Verbal Master Alarm Password
Single word used to verify your identity when an alarm is triggered or when speaking to Guardian Protection. This password gives you authority to make changes on your account. You won’t want to share this password with many people.
Verbal Limited Level Password
When you are giving access to your home or business to someone you may want to assign a limited password used to verify their identity when an alarm is triggered or when speaking to Guardian Protection, but this password has limited authority and cannot authorize changes on your account.
Master Panel Code
Numeric code used to arm and disarm your security system at your panel. This code is also used to add, remove, or change codes in your panel.
Duress Code
Numeric code that will disarm your security system at your panel, but silently notifies Guardian of an emergency.
Limited Level Code
To give someone temporary access to your home or business, you can assign them a limited level code that can only be used for a specific amount of time. You can add a limited code at your keypad or by calling us at 1.800.PROTECT (1.800.776.8328).
Read MoreOnce your security system is installed and activated, it will be in “orientation” mode for the first 7 days. This gives you some time to get comfortable using your new system without worrying about false alarms and potential fines.
During this time, Guardian will only call your primary phone number when your system sends a burglary, medical, duress, keypad fire, or panic alarm signal. We will only notify emergency responders if you request it.
If you have a monitored smoke or carbon monoxide detector, those alarm signals will always be treated normally. We’ll always alert emergency responders when we receive this type of signal from your system, regardless of where you are in the orientation period. Already got the hang of it? Unless doing so violates a local municipal ordinance, we’re happy to turn this feature off for you early. Just give us a call at 1.800.PROTECT (1.800.776.8328).

You can update your Verbal Alarm Password any time by logging into your Guardian account and following these steps:
1. Choose Monitored Services.
2. From Monitored Services, click Verbal Alarm Password.
3. Enter your current Verbal Alarm Password when prompted.
4. You will be prompted to enter your current Verbal Alarm Password again, and then enter your new Verbal Password twice.
5. Click the Save button. Your Verbal Alarm Password is now updated!
Please memorize your new Verbal Alarm Password, because it’s the number one way we verify your identity in the event of an alarm or future correspondence.
Read MoreYou can update your emergency contacts any time by logging into your Guardian account and following these steps:
1. Choose Monitored Services.
2. From Monitored Services, click Emergency Contacts.
3. Enter your current Verbal Alarm Password when prompted.
4. You can now edit the Primary Contact number of the account and add/edit any additional contact numbers you’d like notified in the event of an alarm.
5. After each edit or addition is complete, click the Save button. Your emergency contacts are now updated!
Please remember to review and update your emergency contacts regularly as they are contacted in the event of an emergency alarm.

If you’re not able to access the video above, please follow these steps:
1. Log into the Guardian app.
2. Tap the menu icon and select Login Information.
3. Select Two-Factor Authentication.
4. Select Text Messages, then tap Next.
5. Enter your mobile phone number, country, and provider.
6. You’ll receive a code via SMS message.
7. Enter the code in the verification box. Click Verify.
