All About Virtual Service Appointments

Guardian Protection’s virtual service appointment (VSA) option can save you time, money, and stress if service is ever needed on your security system. This option allows you to resolve the problem while being guided by one of our technical experts through your smartphone’s camera. These appointments are a great option so that you don’t have to worry about carving time out of your day waiting for an in-home appointment, and it might even save you some money as well!

Our VSA technicians hold appointments primarily for monitored security devices (door/window contacts, motion detectors, glass break sensors, carbon monoxide detectors, and smoke detectors) and can service up to three devices per appointment. The average VSA appointment lasts about 20 minutes, and we are successful in resolving the issue over 90% of the time! Our trained VSA technicians are experts in assisting you throughout the appointment and will provide peace of mind by testing your newly installed device(s) on every appointment. 1.) Contact Us

First, you will need to reach out to us to let us know what the issue is by calling 1.800.PROTECT (1-800-776-8328). If the problem does not involve a solution that can be fixed over the phone and your system is compatible with our virtual appointment option, our representative may suggest scheduling this service.

2.) Have Device(s) Shipped to You

Depending on the issue you’re dealing with, a Technical Care Specialist may need to order new parts on your behalf. On average, this shipment process takes three to five business days, and you should have your new parts or products in hand within the week. When these new parts are shipped, you will be sent an email with more information and next steps. Through this email, you will find out how to schedule your virtual appointment.

3) Schedule a Virtual Service Appointment

Select the link in the email our representative sent you to see upcoming scheduling availabilities. We are available to assist you virtually from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day of the week. Decide on a time and day that works best with your schedule and book an appointment. Please remember that one of our representatives will be calling exactly on time for your appointment, so it is important that you are available at the time you scheduled to avoid any delays.

4.) Attend Your Appointment

When the time and day comes for your appointment, one of our representatives will call to walk you through the step-by-step process of how to fix your system. Whether this requires replacing parts or rebooting your system, one of our professionals will be on the line to answer any questions and help you out as you go. These appointments must be conducted through your smartphone, so make sure you have a phone with a working camera nearby around the time of your call!
