PITTSBURGH – June 26 – Guardian Protection, the nation’s fifth largest security solutions provider, was recently recognized with two prestigious industry awards for its commitment to excellence in security monitoring and for providing a high level of service to the law enforcement community.
At the Monitoring Association’s annual Electronic Security Expo (ESX) in Indianapolis earlier this month, Guardian was presented with the 2019 Monitoring Center of the Year award. This award honors outstanding companies that perform in the highest professional manner and make a significant contribution to the betterment of the monitoring industry and profession, while demonstrating exceptional service to their customers and community. Entries were judged by a blue-ribbon panel that evaluates how well a monitoring center has demonstrated excellence in several areas including: calls handled, hiring practices, training curriculum, relationships with responding authorities, false dispatch procedures and professionalism of communication. Guardian previously won the award in 2015, and since awardees cannot apply for three years after winning, this is considered a “back to back” win for the company, and a first in the award’s history.
In addition to Monitoring Center of the Year, Guardian was also presented with the Police Dispatch Quality Award from the Security Industry Alarm Coalition at the same industry conference. This award is given to security monitoring services that work diligently to reduce unnecessary first responder dispatches and promote best practices in alarm response in order to provide officers with the best information.
“These industry awards are an honor because they recognize the tireless work our employees put into ensuring our monitoring and response procedures are helping to keep our customers safe and supporting first responders who put their lives on the line,” Jason Bradley, Vice President, Care and Monitoring Operations commented. “Our monitoring center staff are highly trained, highly dedicated professionals who work around the clock to serve more than 300,000 homes and businesses across the country. These awards reflect their commitment and hard work.”
Guardian monitoring centers are an always-on, 24/7/365 operation that are completely U.S.-based with locations in Pittsburgh and Phoenix. The Guardian monitoring staff comprises more than 57 people across several departments, including monitoring, customer care and technical support. All staff who work in or with the monitoring team receive four weeks of intensive, one-on-one training before answering any alarm calls. In addition, they receive ongoing training to stay abreast of the latest policies and trends.
In 2018, Guardian monitoring center specialists received and responded to over 1.6 million signals, and their average response time was 16.8 seconds. To learn more about the importance of monitored security and Guardian’s commitment to monitoring center excellence, visit www.guardianprotection.com.
