Installing a Guardian Window/Door Sensor is simple to do! Just watch the video below and follow the steps, and you’re all set!
Important: You will need to put your system on test mode before you begin your installation. This is to ensure authorities are not sent due to an accidental alarm going off. Simply log into your Guardian account and select “testing my system” on the right-hand side. Them follow the steps provided. Your system will be on test mode for 4 hours.
For this install, you may need a step stool or ladder.
To add the sensor to your system:
- Remove the two pieces of the sensor from the box. The larger piece is the sensor, and the smaller piece is the magnet.
- Go to your security panel and select the top menu bar. Then select settings.
- Select advanced settings and enter your master code.
- Select security sensors and then auto learn.
- Pull out the battery tabs from the new sensor. This will auto learn the sensors into your system. Select ok on the notification that appears on the screen.
- Assign a zone group for your sensor from the drop down.
- Name the sensor from the top right corner using the drop down.
- Hit add new.
To perform a cellular test:
- Select the top menu bar and select settings.
- Select advanced settings and enter your master code.
- Select system tests.
- Select cellular test.
- Press the start button.
To install the sensor:
- Thoroughly clean the spot you will be putting the sensor.
- Peel and stick the adhesive tape to the back of the sensor and the magnet.
- Mount the sensor with the magnet indicator point toward the magnet location.
- Mount the magnet point toward the window sensor indicator.
- Open and close the window or door a few times to ensure the pieces don’t move or hit each other.
- Arm your system in away mode.
- Open the door or window so the sensor triggers an alarm to ensure the system is working properly.
