Need to change the battery on your Guardian Simon XT Security Panel? First, make sure your system is disarmed, and then place your system on test mode. Watch the video below for a few additional steps and then you’re all set!
To replace your panel’s battery, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your Guardian Protection account.
- Select System Info and then select Test My System.
- Disarm your system.
- Remove the AC Adaptor from the outlet.
- Remove the small screw at the top of the panel if applicable.
- Hinge downward the front of your panel by gently pulling it away from the mounting plate.
- Separate the battery retainers and pull the battery out by disconnecting the wires from the battery.
- Replace the batteries by reconnecting the black wire first and the red wire last to the new battery pack.
- Swing the panel back up and lock it into place.
- Replace the screw at the top of the panel.
- Plug the AC Adaptor back into the lower plug outlet, screwing the screw back in.
- The low battery notification on your panel should be gone automatically.
- Test your system to make sure it is working correctly.
- Take your system out of test mode.
