Replacing your damaged Honeywell Door/Window Sensor is easy! Watch the video below and follow the simple instructions and you’re all set!
To install your new sensor:
Before getting started, go to customercare.guardianprotection.com and log into your account. Select system info on the left-hand side. Select test my system. Follow the steps provided to put your system into test mode.
Tip: Take a photo of your old sensor to reference after to ensure the new sensor is installed correctly.
- Remove the sensor from the box.
- Place your sensor on a flat surface.
- Find the arrow indicating down to the indentation and carefully insert the flat head of your screwdriver into the indentation.
- Separate the cover from the sensor.
- Go to your old sensor and repeat the same process while it is mounted.
- Insert your screwdriver into the bottom left and push forward. Slide the back plate to release.
- If there are screws, remove them before proceeding.
- Carefully twist the sensor and the magnet side to side to remove them from the door or window.
- Thoroughly clean the surface where you will be placing the sensor.
- Insert the new battery into the sensor.
- Peel and stick the adhesive tape to the back of the sensor and the magnet.
- Mount the sensor with the magnet indicator pointing toward the magnet location.
- Mount the magnet pointing to the sensor indicator.
- Press and hold them in place for 20 seconds. Open and close the door or window a few times to ensure the pieces do not shift, hit each other, or fall off.
