Replacing your damaged Honeywell Door/Window Sensor is easy! Watch the video below and follow the simple instructions and you’re all set!

To install your new sensor:

Before getting started, go to customercare.guardianprotection.com and log into your account. Select system info on the left-hand side. Select test my system. Follow the steps provided to put your system into test mode.

Tip: Take a photo of your old sensor to reference after to ensure the new sensor is installed correctly.

  1. Remove the sensor from the box.
  2. Place your sensor on a flat surface.
  3. Find the arrow indicating down to the indentation and carefully insert the flat head of your screwdriver into the indentation.
  4. Separate the cover from the sensor.
  5. Go to your old sensor and repeat the same process while it is mounted.
  6. Insert your screwdriver into the bottom left and push forward. Slide the back plate to release.
  7. If there are screws, remove them before proceeding.
  8. Carefully twist the sensor and the magnet side to side to remove them from the door or window.
  9. Thoroughly clean the surface where you will be placing the sensor.
  10. Insert the new battery into the sensor.
  11. Peel and stick the adhesive tape to the back of the sensor and the magnet.
  12. Mount the sensor with the magnet indicator pointing toward the magnet location.
  13. Mount the magnet pointing to the sensor indicator.
  14. Press and hold them in place for 20 seconds. Open and close the door or window a few times to ensure the pieces do not shift, hit each other, or fall off.   
  15. To activate your sensor, please email your name, address, and phone number to activate@GuardianProtection.com.
