How to replace the batteries
Watch a step-by-step video for replacing the batteries in your Concord 4 panel.
To replace your panel’s battery, please follow these steps:
- Log in to your Guardian Protection account.
- Select System Info and then select Test My System.
- Disarm your system.
- Unlock the control panel box to access the battery.
- Disconnect the black wire from the negative battery terminal by gently pulling it free.
- Disconnect the red wire from the positive battery terminal by gently pulling it free.
- Remove the old battery from the panel.
- To ensure your system recognizes the new battery, unplug the transformer (typically located near the panel box). This will power down your system.
- Make sure there are no plastic terminal protectors from the replacement battery. If there are any, please remove them.
- If the battery does not have red and black terminals, check for + and – signs so that you can replace the battery in such a way that the red and black wires do not cross each other.
- Place the new battery at the bottom of the panel box.
- Replace the red wire by connecting it to the positive terminal and the black wire to the negative terminal.
- Close and lock the panel door.
- Plug in the system transformer (your system will not function correctly if the transformer is not plugged into an outlet).
- Return to the keypad and press 1, and then enter your four-digit code. Then re-enter 1 again as well as your four-digit code.
- Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for your new battery to fully charge.
- Make sure to test your system to make sure it is working correctly after the battery is fully charged.
- Remove your system from test mode.
