Here are some true stories of customers who felt lucky after Guardian’s monitoring center responded to emergency signals from the Guardian system in their homes.
Guardian helped prevent a larger house fire.
“I’m compelled to write to let you know how fortunate we are to be connected to your service. At approximately 3:20 this morning, the fire alarm on our Guardian system awakened us.
I had just gone to bed an hour prior. I opened the bedroom door to a strange odor and smoke. Almost immediately the telephone rang. It was Janine from your monitoring center. She asked me some very specific questions to try and understand the seriousness of the situation. I asked her to call us back as we needed a few minutes to determine the source of the smoke. She told me that she was going to call our fire department in the meantime.
We determined the source of the smoke was a smoldering, unscented triple-wick candle that was lit three days before! It was set in a grapevine basket on a granite table. The basket was totally consumed and the wax was on fire.
Luckily, I have a watering can beside the table and used it to douse the flame. Shortly thereafter, the fire department and Janine called and I assured them the situation was under control. My family and I had been in the basement many times since that candle was lit and didn’t realize it was burning! We feel so fortunate to have your service and can’t imagine what would have happened if we didn’t have the Guardian for protection. Thank you for helping to save our lives and our home. “

Alarm + neighbors deter a burglar.
“I was at work when I received a call from Guardian telling me that the burglar alarm was going off at my house.
I rushed home and as I pulled in I noticed that Guardian had notified the police who had already arrived. I also saw that my parents and neighbors were there. They heard the sirens going off so they ran over to see what was happening. The burglars tried to get in by busting the lock off the door and then ripping my Guardian keypad off the wall. But the burglars couldn’t stop those Guardian sirens so they ran away.
This same situation happened once before and Guardian was there for me both times. The burglars must have thought they were being smart by trying to rip the keypad off the wall, but they were no match for my Guardian alarm.

Guardian notifies daughter of unnoticed home fire.
“Basically, Guardian helped save my 14-year-old daughter and my house. My daughter didn’t have a clue the house was on fire until Guardian called and told her to evacuate.
The people at the monitoring center knew exactly what to do, and they really came through for us – phoned the house, got my daughter out, notified the fire department and called me at work, all in the space of a few minutes.
The firemen said we were lucky that the fire was called in so soon. When they arrived, one side of the house was in flames, the result of someone having thrown a cigarette into mulch next to a fence outside the house.
We had some damage, but our daughter was looked after and our house and belongings were saved. I had been initially hesitant about installing the Guardian security and fire alarm system, but now I consider it the best investment I ever made in my life. It’s a small price to pay for so much that they helped to save.”
