Surveillance devices such as video doorbells and cameras are a great deterrent to theft and vandalism, and you can quickly and securely access live or archived footage on your mobile device.
To access this video footage, all cameras, regardless of the provider, utilize your internet service (ISP) at your home or business. The quality of your ISP is important, particularly your upload speed.
We recommend a minimum of 3 Mbps upload speed per video device. If you are below this speed, the quality of the video feed will be impacted, possibly including being unable to access them.
Viewing video requires a stable ISP, while a speed test may indicate you have the required upload speed for each device, consider peek internet activity in your home when streaming TV and gaming, as they will reduce upload speed and will affect quality and access to your video.
Not all ISPs are created equal, here’s what we recommend:
- Cable/Broadband
- Fiber
The above types of service do not provide consistent bandwidth to support your products, regardless of marketing hype. If you switch to one of these providers after installation, your service will be impacted.
